Algorithm Rhythm (aka Hit Song Science).

Wanna be a rock star? Now you can use a simple file scan to improve your odds at scoring a chart-topper. The technology, an algorithm from Music Intelligence Solutions, mathematically analyzes the underlying patterns in a track, including harmony, chord progression and lyrics. The computer then compares the song's mathematical characteristics against other past hits. Bogus? A study from Harvard Business School says the tech picks a winner 8 out of 10 times, compared to a 10% success rate for songs promoted by record companies as singles. Ouch. Wonder how the track for our homepage video (written by Scott Mathews) would rate? Go here and click "watch" in the upper right corner to hear it.
